Vehicle Mount Ruggedized Tablet Computer
This customer needed a rugged vehicle mount computer for tractors. It required connectors for two serial devices also on the tractor for GPS data and to control external devices. By using the flexibility designed into the Grayhill DuraMax tablet computer, 9 pin D-Sub connectors were added to the bottom of the unit. The power connector was modified to allow the computer to connect to the vehicle power supply, eliminating the need for an on board battery. Using the four threaded inserts at the corners of the DuraMax unit, this customer easily fabricated a mounting system to the vehicle. Embedded Data Server
This customer needed a low cost, highly reliable data server for their in-store kiosk system. Grayhill provided them with a custom embedded system including a 10/100Mb Ethernet connection to their client devices. Their database could be stored directly on the device using a low cost Compact Flash card. Their software team, using the .NET Compact Framework included in their custom operating system, developed a scalable, highly portable application. Also included in their operating system was a ftp and telnet server for easy remote administration. A custom solution, all in a compact rugged enclosure! |

Networked Security Monitoring Station
This customer needed a wall mounted data entry station for their in store security systems. This system was designed as a low cost, highly reliable network device. The enclosure was designed with a custom keypad layout, LCD display, Ethernet connectivity, with RS232 and RS485 serial connections. The enclosure is wall mountable, but hinged, to allow easy access for installation. Using standard grayhill components, we were able to minimize the tooling and development costs of getting this product into production. |

Workforce Management Touchpanel Computer
This customer needed a low cost, high resolution touchscreen terminal for their workforce management system. The terminals would be networked over Ethernet back to a central server that would process the data. Grayhill provided this customer with a rugged wall mounted touch panel computer with a high brightness 8.4 inch SVGA display. This customer also required a 10/100 Mb Ethernet network connection to download graphics rich information screens. For the future expandability, the customer also required a USB host controller, with its ability to connect peripheral devices such as magnetic card readers, fingerprint readers, and external keyboards. |
